Pope Leo XIV
Yesterday about 11:00 am, some people asked me about the possibility of an American being elected Pope. I told them it wasn't going to happen. A little over an hour later, Pope Leo XIV was introduced to the world. Before yesterday he was known as Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, an Augustinian Friar from the Chicago area. As of yesterday around 5pm Rome time, he is the 267th Roman Pontiff.
He is a Chicago White Sox fan for those who are interested, which makes things a little awkward considering the Royals just swept the Sox.

Most importantly please pray for our new Pope, he bears a heavy burden. Below is one traditional prayer for the Pope:
V/ Let us pray for the Pope.
R/ May the Lord preserve him, give him a long life, make him blessed upon the earth, and not hand him over to the power of his enemies.
V/ May your hand be upon your holy servant.
R/ And upon your son, whom you have anointed.

Graduates
We have a lot of graduations coming up this month.
- Thursday evening our 8th graders graduate from Mater Dei School
- Sunday the 18th seniors graduate from Hayden Catholic High School
We also have parishioners graduating from several other high schools and universities this May. Please congratulate and pray for our young people.
